Jordan Love hasn’t started a game as the Green Bay Packers’ unquestioned face of the franchise under center. And yet, as the successor to the great Aaron Rodgers, Love probably has more pressure to succeed than most passers this year.
At the very least, Love is already taking well to Green Bay traditions. And after his first training camp practice as the Packers’ starter, Love revealed that Rodgers didn’t leave him completely hanging. On the eve of his first true starting day in Green Bay, Rodgers called up Love and shared some classy advice for the young signal caller as he got ready for his big moment.
Even with Rodgers in New York, it’s apparent he’s still interested in leaving the ladder behind for his Packers successor:

While simplistic, that kind of advice to “be yourself” and “enjoy it” is evergreen. The moment a player like Love starts attributing more to a situation, potentially overthinking matters, is when the wheels could fall off.
If Love keeps it simple as Rodgers urged him, he’s much more likened to be the next solid Packers quarterback.
This was how Twitter reacted to Love revealing Rodgers gave him advice
Aaron did everything for Jordan that he wished Favre would’ve done for him. https://t.co/el10P0dhir

When Aaron Rodgers final story is told, his mentorship of/friendship with Jordan Love in comparison of the transition between Favre-to-Rodgers, will be one of the bright spots of his legacy.
Something I would not have believed I would be saying 3 years ago. https://t.co/oiW6KmqwT5

Good on Aaron. He treated love right. And with that I’m ready to close the book on his chapter with Green Bay https://t.co/gA0lphV4fe

Wait a minute Aaron Rodgers called this guy and gave him advice for success?
Where are all the Rodgers haters? You guys slowly starting to realize Rodgers isn’t the villain? https://t.co/DXEnzl35Bv

The fact Rodgers still maintains a relationship with love is amazing, if anyone knows about this situation it’s Aaron. I’ll never forget the signs “we want brett” at packers practice field

Never understood the Aaron Rodgers hate. Yeah he’s different but he seems like a really good dude. https://t.co/v9eElzNpXg
