Deadline day signing Jonjo Shelvey has already made a positive impression as he awaits his Nottingham Forest debut.
The midfielder joined the Reds from Newcastle United last week, having made the move while being in the latter stages of recovering from a calf injury. He was not involved in last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Leeds United at the City Ground, but is said to be “close” to a return ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Fulham.
Shelvey has already caught the eye when working with his new teammates on the training pitch. And head coach Steve Cooper has thanked the 30-year-old’s former club for the information they passed on when he put pen to paper.
