'Joker Folie a Deux' starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga gets EARLY October 2 release in India as Akshay Kumar's 'Sky Force' gets postponed

In a surprise move that has delighted fans of the DC comics, the much-anticipated Todd Philips film 'Joker: Folie a Deux', starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, will now release in India two days earlier than expected. Originally slated for an October 4 release, the film is now set to hit theatres in India on October 2, 2024.

This change comes amidst rumours that Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film 'Sky Force' has been postponed to 2025. The film was initially scheduled for release on October 2. With the Bollywood film now pushed back, the path has been cleared for 'Joker 2' to take centre stage during the extended holiday weekend in India.

'Joker: Folie a Deux' is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 blockbuster 'Joker', which saw Joaquin deliver an Oscar-winning performance as the troubled Arthur Fleck. In the sequel, Phoenix reprises his role, joined by Lady Gaga, who is set to play Harley Quinn, adding a new layer of intrigue to the film’s dark and twisted plot set within Gotham City's Arkham Asylum.

The update in the release date came with new character posters featuring grim looks at Phoenix and Gaga. With its early release, 'Joker: Folie a Deux' will now be released exactly 5 years after the Oscar-nominated 'Joker' released in 2019. As anticipation builds, the film’s early release in India is expected to draw large crowds, making it one of the most talked-about cinematic events of the year.
