A joint police and Scottish SPCA operation in one area of Wishaw has been declared a success.
Officers joined together with animal welfare officers in an operation in Craigneuk on Thursday.
Wishaw Area Inspector Alan Mulholland said: “Earlier this week, community officers PC’s McMullan and Buchanan supported our partners from the Scottish SPCA in a joint operation in the Craigneuk area of Wishaw.
“This was successful in ensuring the welfare of animals.
“We are committed to supporting our partners and working with them to improve our communities – animals need protecting too.”
Earlier this month, a day of action in Craigneuk resulted in a number of interventions regarding householders warned, intelligence noted and also highlighted issues surrounding the mistreatment of dogs.
Following that operation police stated they were working closely with the Scottish SPCA and are fully on board to support them in disrupting anyone found mistreating animals.
