Many fans were happy to see Johnny's comeback to the film industry as he was praised for his performance in the French film and received a seven minute standing ovation.

Meanwhile, a few fans spotted something strange about Johnny's teeth and claimed that they were "rotting" beneath his smile. After seeing the images, one compared him to his Pirates of the Caribbean character

Johnny spoke out while at the Cannes press conference, admitting that he "doesn't think about Hollywood".

He previously claimed that there was a "boycott" of him in Hollywood in a 2021 interview, which followed on from the court case, but now he claims to no longer feel this way.

Asked about feeling "boycotted" by Hollywood, the Pirates of the Caribbean star said: "Did I feel a boycott by Hollywood?

"Well, you’d have to not have a pulse to feel at that point, ‘None of this is happening, it’s just a weird joke or I have been asleep for 35 years.’

"Of course, when you’re asked to resign from a film you’re doing, because of something that is merely a bunch of kind of vowels and consonants floating in the air, you feel a boycott," he went on after being asked by Deadline about "feeling boycotted".
