Jockey Club receive High Court injunction to stop Derby disruption

Animal Rising protesters who intend to sabotage the Betfred Derby at Epsom next weekend have been ordered to stay away by the High Court.

The Jockey Club, which owns Epsom Downs as well as many other well-known racetracks, filed the application because they believed the group had made it "explicitly clear" that they intended to breach security at the Surrey racecourse to hold a disruptive protest.

The Grand National at Aintree was disrupted in April when protesters walked onto the track and had to be removed by police, which caused the race to be delayed by just over 10 minutes.
