  • Actor Joan Cusack has discussed her decision to distance herself from Hollywood ahead of her return in the new Pixar sequel , Toy Story 5, where she reprises her role as Jessie.
  • Cusack explained that her absence was driven by a desire to “live your life and raise your kids” in Chicago, prioritising a normal life away from the industry's pressures and values.
  • Since stepping away from Hollywood , Cusack moved to Chicago with her family and has been operating her own gift shop, Judy Maxwell Home, since 2011.
  • Her recent appearance at the Toy Story 5 London premiere marked her first red carpet event in 11 years, with her last being Showtime's Emmy Eve event in 2015.
  • In Toy Story 5, which is set to be released on 19 June, the toys' owner, Bonnie, becomes engrossed with a new digital tablet, leaving the original characters feeling neglected.
