Jesse Marsch has admitted that Leeds United are still in a relegation battle despite picking up their third win in four matches against Watford on Saturday afternoon. The Whites recorded an impressive 3-0 victory at Vicarage Road to move nine points clear of the relegation zone.
Raphinha gave Leeds the lead with a terrific strike from outside the box, before Rodrigo doubled their advantage in the 73rd minute. Jack Harrison added gloss on the scoreline with moments to play as he fired the ball home on the counter-attack to seal a vital win on the road.
Following Everton's victory over Manchester United and Newcastle United's success against Wolverhampton Wanderers, it was important the Whites responded and they did just that, producing a professional performance in Hertfordshire. With Burnley set to play rock bottom Norwich City on Sunday, Leeds could've been dragged back in it if they failed to beat the Hornets.

However, Marsch's side did the job and were comfortable winners in the end. When asked about whether Leeds are still in a relegation battle: "Yeah, yeah. Everyone's getting results around us.
"I think there's been some weak penalties in some of these games and we can't seem to buy a penalty. That's another topic, people in Leeds tell me we have to fight for everything and I've said already that I'm okay with that, but I think especially with the 16-day break now, it would have been really difficult to sit and watch the table knowing that we didn't pick up the points that we wanted in this game and things are going to get tight.
"By the time we play against Palace, the table will be tight again. We just have to stay focused on us, I've said that a million times now. But that's the most important thing, it's got us to where we are right now, this concept and mentality of just working every day and trying to improve and trying to give everything we have to each other. That has gotten us to where are now and we need to continue with that."
Leeds are not in action for another 16 days when they travel to Crystal Palace in the Monday Night Football. This is because of Chelsea's involvement in the FA Cup - with the Blues set to play their semi-final next Saturday.
