Jersey Shore getaway turns into nightmare after toddler allegedly overdoses on cocaine

  • A New Jersey man has been charged after a 2-year-old boy allegedly overdosed on cocaine while in his care during a Jersey Shore vacation.
  • Firefighters responding to a call in North Wildwood on July 20 found the toddler struggling to breathe inside Alexander Moles' vehicle before EMS revived him with Narcan.
  • Hospital tests later detected cocaine in the child's system, according to investigators, prompting a criminal investigation.
  • Authorities said Moles, 39, was staying at a vacation rental and was responsible for supervising the children when the boy became critically ill.
  • Moles is charged with child endangerment, cocaine possession and related offenses. He was released following a detention hearing on July 24.
