A “combination of negligence and misconduct” allowed paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein to kill himself alone in his cell as he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges, a report has found.
Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz cited the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City’s failure to assign Epstein a cellmate after his previous one left and problems with CCTV as factors in Epstein’s death.
