Jamie Foxx 'still not himself' but 'getting the best care' two months after hospital dash

Jamie Foxx is reportedly "still not himself" as he continues to recover from an undisclosed health issue that's believed to have led to him being hospitalised just months ago.

It was announced that the actor, 55, was hospitalised back in April after having experienced what was referred to by his daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, as a "medical complication".

He's thought to have later spent time in a physical rehab centre, following the health issue which is said to have occurred whilst he was working on Netflix film Back in Action.

There's since been updates about his recovery, with it now claimed that Jamie - whose credits include the films Ray (2004) and Django Unchained (2012) - is "still not himself".

Discussing the actor's health, a source told People magazine this week: "He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself."

The source further stated that those closed to Jamie remain tight-lipped about his health, with them telling the outlet recently: "He has the tightest circle around him".

The remarks come after John Boyega, 31 - who stars alongside Jamie in the upcoming film They Cloned Tyrone (2023) - shared an update about his co-star earlier this week.

He spoke about Jamie - who is also credited as a producer on the film, which is due to be released on Netflix next month - whilst at the premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

John, who had previously expressed interest in speaking to his co-star amid news of his health issue, told the outlet whilst at the event: "He finally picked up the phone."

The actor continued: "He's doing well." John said that he is giving Jamie privacy and "can't wait" for his return, with him adding that he expressed "all the well wishes" to him.

He further stated at the premiere earlier this week that he is going to be waiting until Jamie "comes back out here" and said in a message to his co-star: "So take your time, Jamie."

They Cloned Tyrone, which is scheduled to be released through the streaming platform next month on July 21, stars John and Jamie in leading roles alongside Teyonah Parris.

A synopsis for the upcoming film reads: "An eerie series of events leads an unlikely trio (John, Teyonah and Jamie) down a rabbit hole into a sinister neighborhood conspiracy."
