Former Leeds United player James Milner has admitted that he would rather give up golf for life than play for Manchester United, having played for three of their biggest rivals.
The Liverpool veteran joined the Reds from Manchester United's city neighbours Manchester City in 2015 and grew up as a Leeds supporter making the Englishman the ultimate anti-Manchester United player.
His feelings towards the 20-time top-flight champions became clear during the Reds' Premier League trophy lift at the end of the 2019/20 season when a Gini Wijnaldum Instagram live picked up the following words from the 36-year-old: “It’s the first time I ever wanted a red ribbon. “It’s always been United before."

Having made his 600th Premier League appearance just before the World Cup break against Southampton, you will have to go back almost two decades for the last time Milner appeared in a Leeds shirt, having made his senior debut for the Whites in the 2002/03 season.
As well as spells at Newcastle United and Aston Villa, 100s of combined appearances for the likes of Leeds, Manchester City and Liverpool will have seen the 36-year-old's distaste for Manchester United grow over the years and the Englishman didn't hide his resentment towards the Red Devils in a recent interview.
"That's a horrendous question," Milner told Sky Sports when asked to choose between giving up golf or playing for Manchester United. "I absolutely love golf, but it would have to be never play golf again."
The midfielder was also quizzed on his preference between Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, with the former having an extensive career with Manchester United and the other at Liverpool, with the Englishman answering: "Is mute an option or not? I would have to stick with the kit I'm wearing and go with Carra."
