In a surprising turn of events on the track this morning, Jamaica fell short of qualifying for the men’s 4x100m relay final, finishing fourth in the heats. The top three teams from each heat secure automatic berths in the final, and unfortunately, Jamaica was unable to meet that standard.
While the Jamaican team had a strong start, the final two handovers proved to be problematic and ultimately costly for their chances of advancing. China, France, and Canada claimed the top three spots in the heat, securing their places in the final alongside Team USA, South Africa, and Team GB.
Despite their efforts, Jamaica's performance was not enough to secure a spot in the final race. However, Japan and Italy managed to qualify as the fastest losers, rounding out the field for the highly anticipated men’s 4x100m relay final.
