Jake Paul responds to rival KSI announcing next fight against Joe Fournier

Jake Paul has criticised KSI for claiming victory over Joe Fournier will make him the best YouTube boxer in the world.

KSI will look to pick up his second win in 2023 when he faces unbeaten professional boxer Fournier on May 13 at the OVO Wembley Arena. 'Boxing billionaire' Fournier hasn't fought in almost two years with most of his professional wins coming on the regional circuit in the Dominican Republic. The 40-year-old was beaten decisively by former two-weight world champion David Haye in their September 2021 exhibition fight and KSI thinks a win against Fournier would make him the top YouTube boxer.

"When I KO Joe Fournier, I will be the pound for pound best YouTube boxer. Yes above Jake Paul," KSI wrote with Paul then replying: "Hahaha. I’m your idol. So when you beat a guy whose last pro fight was over two years ago against a reggaeton singer that had never boxed in his life, you are the pound for pound best?! Or is because his fight before that was 6 years ago against a 1-11 'boxer'? Sham."

Paul suffered his first professional defeat last month when he was beaten by bitter rival Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia, despite dropping the Love Island star in the last round. 'The Problem Child' is expected to try and avenge his loss to Fury before facing KSI in a blockbuster fight at the end of the year, which will likely take place in the UK.

KSI has already beaten a professional boxer in Luis Pineda, stopping the Mexican in a farcical 'two fights in one night' event last August. The Brit has insisted Fournier is a step up from his former opponents, stating: "After my last performance I'm very excited to get back in the ring to do it again and get another knockout.

"I need to challenge myself, for me it's always about trying to see how much I can push my own body and mind. I didn't think the last professional boxer I fought was much of a challenge to me and I can't wait to show the world how I knockout a pro boxer."

Fournier has insisted KSI will be in for a "rude awakening" as he said of the fight: "I think the fact they have a rematch clause shows just how unconfident they are going into this. I wouldn't want to get punched in the face by me ever. He is someone who carries this Misfits brand on his shoulders and I think it's way too someone for him to fight someone like him. I'm someone who punches people unconscious for a living and KSI is going to get a rude awakening on the night."
