NEW DELHI: Jaismine Lamboria justified her selection for India’s World boxing championships squad as it took the Bhiwani boxer just 1 minute, 23 seconds to blow away the challenge of Tanzania’s Nyambega Beatrice Ambrose in the women’s 60kg category to sail into the pre-quarters of the event on Friday.
Jaismine, whose selection for the Worlds was challenged by the reigning national champion Poonam Poonia in her weight division, scored a dominating RSC (referee stops contest) victory over Ambrose after her Tanzanian opponent received two standing counts from the referee in the first round.
