The Arizona Cardinals enter 2022 with an offense that should be able to score points. They did lose Christian Kirk and Chase Edmonds in free agency, but J.J. Watt is still impressed.
The veteran defensive lineman entering his second season with the team appeared on The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday and he thinks the offense will be able to dominate.
“We’ve got a ton of talent and we have a good mix of young guys and vets who can lead the way and, obviously a very talented quarterback,” he said.
He is glad he doesn’t have to face the offense and especially Kyler Murray.
“That offensive core, who the hell do you double team,” he asked. “You’ve got Zach Ertz, you’ve got Hollywood (Marquise Brown), you’ve got Hop (DeAndre Hopkins) when he gets back, you’ve got Rondale Moore, you’ve got James Conner out of the backfield and then you have to worry about Kyler Murray. How do you stop that?”
Ertz tied a franchise record for receptions by a tight end. Conner was second in the NFL in touchdowns. Brown had over 1,000 yards for the Baltimore Ravens last season.
Watt didn’t even mention A.J. Green, who had nearly 850 receiving yards and 54 receptions.
They have the players to score points even while Hopkins is suspended for the first six games of the year. And when he comes back, watch out.
The Cardinals might be the only team that can stop their offense.
