This Morning viewers were left flocking to social media after Alison Hammond disappeared mid-way through the show. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Friday (October 28) with Dermot O'Leary.
The show kicked off with a bit of a celebration as Alison revealed she had picked up an award during a glitzy ceremony on Thursday night, weeks after she missed out on a coveted National Television Award where she was beaten by Ant and Dec for the Presenter gong.
After being joined by Gyles Brandreth and Matthew Wright for the latest This Morning's View segment, Alison and Dermot headed off to hear from 'Coupon Queen' Holly Smith who was again on hand to share her latest money-saving tips and offers with viewers.
However, after also chatting to Am I Being Unreasonable star Lenny Rush, the pair detailed what was still to come on the show before joining Kate Lawler who was getting spooked ahead of Halloween while bringing viewers details of ITV's latest competition, ahead of chatting to their next interviewee, Alison was nowhere to be seen.
Dermot was left alone of the show's famous sofa as he chatted to Ted Lasso actor Phil Dunster about his new role in Amazon Prime Video's new series, The Devil's Hour. But This Morning viewers were too distracted by Alison's whereabouts to listen to Dermot's chat with Phil.
@uktv_Forever asked: "#ThisMorning what happened to Alison??" @Saza4 said: "Where is Alison???????#ThisMorning." @johnlennonsboot quizzed: "Was this a planned solo interview or has she disappeared somewhere? #thismorning." @liamandrews123 shared: "Hope alison is okay, strange how she’s come off the show #ThisMorning."
Alison did, however, return to be by Dermot's side following an ad break and the pair were in the kitchen with Georgina Burnett who was showing viewers the best Halloween party food currently available to by ahead of the big day on Monday.
But as she made her comeback, there was no explanation as to what happened or why she went missing for the previous interview. Viewers, however, were quick to praise Dermot for his handling of the chat on his own. @TheIntoxicatedJ tweeted: "Dermot is doing a great interview, What is this? #ThisMorning."
@EnfieldGarry said: "Dermot doing a solo interview, great. #ThisMorning." @Hotsunnydaze1 posted: "At last!! Seperating out for solo interviews.... should do this more often. There is absolutely no reason why they should be joined at the hip for the entire show #ThisMorning."
