Some GCSE pupils were left upset by their Chemistry paper - taking to social media saying it was ‘basically maths’. The first AQA Chemistry exam took place this morning (Monday, May 22).
But some were a bit worried about how they had answered the questions - feeling like it was more mathermatics than chemical compounds. Most seemed to think it had got off to an easy start - but then became much much harder, MyLondon reports.
Big gezzer said: “The chemistry aqa guy making the actual chemistry the easiest thing ever then making the rest of it maths #gcse2023.” Zozo added: “#gcses2023 the first half of the aqa combined chemistry paper vs. the second half of the paper” - showing Pedro Pascal laughing then crying.
lilly demanded to know: “WHY WAS HALF OF HIGHER COMBINED CHEMISTRY AQA MATHS???????? A 6 MARKER MATHS QUESTION IS HORRIBLE #gcses #GCSEChemistry #gcse2023”
Ceci is doing gcses :( said: “Why was aqa combined chemistry this morning 90% maths wtf” Maz was not pleased: “I hope whoever made the chemistry aqa higher paper jumps off a cliff.”
However some were definitely very happy indeed. Callie “i want to passionately make out with whoever made that GCSE chemistry paper #gcses2033 #GCSE #gcsechemistry #AQA”
