'It's like replacing Alex Ferguson'... Vernon Kay's 'nerves' ahead of new BBC Radio 2 show

Vernon Kay has said that replacing Ken Bruce on BBC Radio 2 is 'like replacing Alex Ferguson' at Manchester United ahead of his new show.

The Bolton-born presenter steps into the weekday morning slot today (May 15) left vacant by Bruce after 31 years. The 49-year-old said he has no doubt about the enormity of the task and has even rehearsed his commute to the BBC studios several times, the Mirror reports.

He said: "Let’s not beat around the bush. Ken’s show is massive and it’s all thanks to him and what he’s done over that long period of time. It’s like replacing Alex Ferguson.
