Fortnite will be undergoing maintenance today ahead of Fortnite Update 24.30 which is set to bring a new batch of Star Wars content ahead of beloved meme day "May the 4th".

After a week delay from the expected launch date, Fortnite Update 24.30 is set to go live later today, marking the third major update of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Epic Games has confirmed on Twitter that the update will go live today at 8am BST / 3am EDT / 12am PDT. Matchmaking typically goes down 30 minutes prior to an update, so you'll need to finish up any games before then.
Downtime typically lasts around four hours so you'll be able to hop back in at 12pm BST / 7am EDT / 4am PDT, although with Fortnite Update 24.20 the servers were back up well in advance of the four hours, so feel free to double check during this time.
Thanks to some reliable leakers we know that this years version of the annual Fortnite x Star Wars crossover will be bringing back Lightsabers and Blasters, as well as introducing Force powers for this year's event. Two skins with the codenames CirrusVine and PlotTwist are also set to be added with this update, we have no idea who the former could be, but the latter has been revealed to Anakin Skywalker, which makes sense considering Darth Vader is already in the game and – spoilers for The Empire Strikes Back – him being Luke's father has to be the most iconic plot twist of all time.
Fortnite Update 24.30 expected patch notes
Epic Games won't release the full patch notes until the downtime is in effect, however, from looking at the Fortnite Trello Board you can see some issues listed as "fixed in next game update".
General
- Multiple outfits may appear shiny/glossy
- Infinite Dab isn't infinite in the Lobby
- Trunks and branches of some trees move erratically (PC/Android issue only)
- Some Back Bling's appear to float and appear detached from the Highwire outfit
Battle Royale and Zero Build issues
- Large Rocks on the Battle Royale Island are not providing as many materials when harvested compared to before v24.20
Creative
- Damage not taken in Creative edit mode
