Irishman accidentally captures image of 'UFO' in Belfast while walking his dog

A man from Belfast has posted an image online of what he claims could be a UFO over the north of the county on Wednesday night.

Brendan Rogan made the unusual discovery while out for a walk with his dog.

He stopped to take a photo of the sunset and didn’t realise what he had caught until later that evening.

On reviewing his image of the sky, he spotted a mysterious object floating in the background and appealed to others to see if they noticed anything.

Speaking to Belfast Live, he said he remains unsure of exactly what the rectangular object could be and continues to ask for others who noticed it to come forward.

Brendan said: "I was out with my dog last night when I stopped to take a picture of the sunset because it looked very nice.

"I was then looking at the picture later on when I noticed that there was a strange object hovering in the sky in it.

"I didn't think that it looked like a plane or a helicopter, which would normally have some sort of lights on at that time, and I thought that it was possibly too high in the sky for it to be a drone.

"I don't think that it is aliens or anything like that, but as I have no idea what it could be it is definitely an unidentified flying object."

After taking to Twitter with his picture, one person suggested that it was simply a drone while another believed it could be a UFO.
