A world-class pro eater has uploaded a video of him attempting, and somehow completing, a Cork city pub's ridiculous burger challenge.
In July US Youtuber Randy Santel and his partner Katina Dejarnett, also a pro eater, visited Leeside and took on a few challenges for their channels.
Randy and Katina demolished the 'Godfather Challenge' in Tony's Bistro which you can read about here, and that monster challenge included eight sausages, six rashers, four hash browns, black and white pudding, fried and scrambled egg, chips, fried tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, onion rings, and nine slices of toast.
But that's not all, those who take the Tony's meal on also have to eat a 6oz steak and wash it down with a bucket of tea or coffee - CorkBeo reports.
Randy and Katina are two of 15 people who've managed it, and over 500 people have tried.
Amazingly the night before they went to Tony's they also took on another mega meal, over at Dwyer's on Washington St.
Now Randy's uploaded the footage of him chowing down on the ridiculous "Holy Cow" burger which is worth €130 and possibly Ireland's biggest.
In this one, he had to finish the meal in an hour or pay the price. If he managed it he'd get it for free as well as a t-shirt and his pic on their wall of fame.
Katina also took it on and got the job done with 30 seconds to spare - Randy somehow cleared his plate in just under 55 minutes. They're the first two people to get their pictures on the wall.
If you want to get an idea of just how massive it is, it consists of:
- 1.5kg of Irish beef
- Four slices of cheddar cheese
- "About half a pound" of beefe brisket topped with homemade BBQ sauce
- Four giant onion rings
- Pickles, lettuce, burger sauce.
- Then about 600g of bread bun
- Loaded fries topped with more beef brisket and beans
After it he said: "Compliments to the chef Mark and his team, and everyone here at Dwyers.
"That beef patty was delicious even though it was huge. It was juicy, pretty much how I like burgers cooked.
"The brisket on top was outstanding and the cheddar cheese covering it all helped get it all down.
"The homemade BBQ sauce, those onion rings, ugh, we won't talk about the bone. It was so much, but the loaded fries were great too."
