Iranian President-Elect Warns Israel Of Consequences For Lebanon Attack

Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian issued a warning on Monday regarding a potential Israeli attack on Lebanon, stating that such an action could have severe consequences for Israel itself. The statement was made during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, where Pezeshkian also congratulated Macron on his victory in Iran's elections.

Pezeshkian is set to be sworn in before the Iranian parliament on Tuesday, taking over the position left vacant by the late President Ebrahim Raisi, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in May. During the call, Macron and Pezeshkian discussed a range of topics, including negotiations to lift sanctions against Iran, the conflict in Ukraine, and the current situations in Gaza and Lebanon.

Israel recently vowed to hold Hezbollah accountable for a rocket attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which resulted in the deaths of 12 children. While Hezbollah has denied involvement in the attack, tensions in the region have escalated, raising concerns about the possibility of a full-scale conflict.
