Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello has admitted "technical problems" must be solved in order for the club to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. The 29-year-old joined the Blues on a club record £97.5million fee from Inter last summer but his homecoming at Stamford Bridge has been far from ideal.
Lukaku netted just six times in the Premier League last term. That, coupled with a scathing interview he gave to Sky Italia where he criticised the club and Thomas Tuchel, saw his second spell at Chelsea go downhill.
Now, less than 12 months after re-signing for the Blues, Lukaku wants out of west London. football.london understands that the Belgian is desperate to leave Chelsea in the coming weeks and his preferred destination is a return to Inter.

The likelihood is that any transfer back to the San Siro would be a loan deal. As per Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday evening, Chelsea rejected Inter's first bid, worth around €5m (£4.2m), for a loan deal. Inter's CEO Antonello has now been speaking about the possibility of bringing Lukaku back to the San Siro. Antonello conceded there are some "technical problems" to iron out before a deal is possible.
He said: "Surely there is a great will of the player to return, the economic and financial feasibility must be checked and some technical problems must be solved. We will try to do it in the necessary time."
As mentioned above, Lukaku made no secret of his desire to one day return to the city of Milan in that controversial interview back in December. He said: "I really hope in the depths of my heart to return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a still good level to hopefully win more."
