An urban explorer who investigated a haunted mortuary abandoned when a body was returned to its family without a brain claims he heard a “man crying” within its walls.
The site in Belfast, Northern Ireland, was closed in 2017 after a range of failures, culminating in the mistake.
Six years after its doors were closed for the last time it was visited by Ben James, 32, from Cambridge.
Inside he found embalming certificates of real people as well as death records.
Legend says the people who went through the mortuary now haunt the building.
Ben spent around two hours exploring and described it as “incredibly creepy”, reporting he heard bangs from different rooms and what sounded like a man crying, even though he was alone in the building.
He also found what he described as a “burial suit” in the freezer.
Ben said: “It’s definitely haunted.
“The locals have heard noises and screams at night.
“It felt very dark in there and I heard bangs in the next room that couldn’t be explained.
“I also heard what sounded like a man crying.”
“The coolest thing about the place is that it still has some of the death certificates and the ambulance certificates.
“There was even a burial suit in the freezer.
“It’s been abandoned for about seven years due to them returning a body back to a family with the brain missing apparently and it was never found.”
Last month we reported on an explorer who managed to keep his nerve as he made his way around a building haunted by a woman in a white dress.
Jose Flores visited the home dubbed the White House owing to the colour of its walls which is believed to have been ghost-ridden since the 1980s.
The 23-year-old was allowed in with the current owner’s permission but what he found inside would give even the bravest of people the chills.
Opening the front door Jose was met by a red satanic symbol painted on the wall.
Several doors were damaged inside the home and Jose also found hand prints and scratches on the walls and two prosthetic legs.
Other discoveries were from people’s nightmares as he found a room full of dolls all hanging from the ceiling and a bath full of feathers.
Some doors were locked shut - leaving only people’s imagination on what might be inside.
Despite the spooky findings, Jose was unable to find any sign of the woman in the white dress, who is said to have wandered the halls since the 1980s.
