An influencer has been forced to apologise after she filmed an 'offensive' video of herself biting into a Terry's chocolate orange, leaving British viewers horrified. The 'Dancing with the Stars' TV celeb, from New Zealand, received a lot of backlash from Brits for her alleged crime as she bit into the solid treat instead of using the traditional whack-on-a-table method to open up the segments, the Mirror r eports.
In fact the repercussions of her actions were so extreme, Jazz had to upload a second video, begging for forgiveness from the British people. Her original video on TikTok showed the mental health activist filming herself trying out UK speciality treats such as Yorkshire Tea.
The taste test went downhill very quickly as Jazz is seen assessing the chocolate orange which she incorrectly refers to as an 'orange chocolate' and decides to bite it as she tries to figure how to eat it. She soon realises her mistake as the orange segments began to fall away from her but her "cursed" miscalculation has left British viewers baffled with some even taking great offence.
One commented: "Someone taking a full bite of a Terry's chocolate orange is one of the most cursed things," while another said: "YOU DID NOT JUST BITE A CHOCOLATE ORANGE." Meanwhile, a third person wrote: "I’m more offended she’s said Terry's orange chocolate.
"No it’s a Terrys chocolate orange!!!" The influencer quickly learned her lesson and was willing to admit her mistake as she uploaded an apology video the following day which was addressed to the "entirety of the UK".
In it, she recognised she had carried out a "very offensive" act but claimed she didn't know it would cause so much mayhem. She also added that she had been ignorant to the instructions on the packaging which detailed how to properly consume the chocolate orange and then filmed herself smacking the sweet treat on an able to a chorus of "oooooh, ahhhhh", as she announced: "I get it now!"
Explaining how the mistake was made, Jazz said: "Look, I opened it and saw that it was in slices so I assumed that you had to get the slices. "I tried breaking it apart it with my fingers but that was unsuccessful so I just… bit into it
"I immediately knew my mistake when I felt the slices in my mouth fall apart. I would like to point out my wrapper didn’t say whack to unwrap it!"
Reflecting on the backlash, she added: "I didn’t know how much of a treatise Terry's chocolate orange was until now, apparently it’s quite a big deal haha. I need time to recover. The Brits need time to forgive."
