Indore men make porn sites for Pak server

INDORE: Crime branch of Indore police on Saturday arrested eight persons who had developed porn websites that were open for people from across the globe to post advertisements for escort services.

“The websites were hosted from a server in Pakistan. Revenue generated from the advertisements posted on these websites was shared by developers and their Pakistani counterparts,” DCP Nimish Agarwal said.

The police also recovered offer letters, which were sent to women who worked in porn films, from the spot.

The DCP said that Bhanwarkuan police had received a tip off about the accused and illegal activities they were carrying out from office number 401 in Sairam Plaza building. Acting on the information, a team from the police station reached the spot. They were later joined by crime branch officials.

“Eight persons— Santosh Solanki, Pushpendra Thakur, Kundan Singh Sinha, Manendra Patel, Pawan Goswami, Amey Mainde, Krishnapal Singh and Jitendra Jain — who were found working in the office were arrested. Directors of the company ---Prashant Shinde and Fayyaz--are on the run,” he said.

“It was found that the accused were developing websites to provide escort services. The accused had developed several websites which they had kept open for people to post prostitution advertisements by making payments with bitcoins. They developed content for the websites and passed it on for hosting from a server in Pakistan,” said Agarwal.

Company manager Santosh Solanki told the police during interrogation that director of the company, Prashant Shinde, had employed him at the office and they developed the escort service websites for him.

“After developing content, the coding programme was provided to the accused Shinde and Fayyaz through online applications. They managed the server of the websites in Pakistan remotely from Indore,” the police said.

Five sets of computers and one modem were seized by the police from the spot and the office was sealed.
