An Indian political leader narrowly avoided an attempted assassination during a wedding party on Wednesday night, according to police and his family.
Farooq Abdullah, 88, the three-time former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and president of the regional National Conference party, was attending the Jammu city event flanked by his personal security.
