India on Saturday summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the Pakistan High Commission and lodged a strong protest over what it described as continued facilitation of illegal cross-border infiltration from Pakistan, while rejecting Islamabad's allegations over an October 2 incident along the International Border in Punjab's Ferozepur sector.
The Ministry of External Affairs said three individuals had entered Indian territory and continued moving towards the border fence despite multiple warnings from the Border Security Force (BSF) to return to Pakistan.

According to the ministry, the BSF subsequently engaged the individuals after they were deemed to pose an imminent security threat.
India told the Pakistani side that the incident reflected what it described as a pattern of repeated cross-border movement by armed narcotics syndicates operating from Pakistan.
The government urged Pakistan to investigate cross-border infiltration and drug-smuggling activities as well as the alleged complicity of Pakistani border-guarding forces.
New Delhi also rejected what it called "baseless and motivated allegations" concerning the October 2 incident in the Ferozepur sector.
India further asked Pakistan to respect the sanctity of the International Border and strictly adhere to relevant bilateral arrangements.
The Pakistani authorities were urged to ensure their forces exercise effective control to prevent unauthorised movement across the border and take measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
