FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to his country singer girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, the pair announced in a post to X on Sunday evening.
Wilkins, 27, posted a black-and-white photo of herself standing with Patel, 46, flashing her hand in front of them to show off her ring with the caption: “Went and got the law involved.”
Patel reshared the image on X, posting an emoji of a red heart and an engagement ring.
The two have been dating since at least 2023, long before Patel went on to take over as head of the FBI in 2025 - with Wilkins attending his swearing-in.
The country singer and political commentator released her debut EP, Grit, in 2023. She has also long been affiliated with conservative groups and writes on her website that she “honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary.”
Patel has faced criticism for traveling on government aircraft on trips that have no known or apparent law enforcement purpose, including using an FBI jet to fly to State College, Pennsylvania, for a pro wrestling event where Wilkins performed the national anthem.
Photos posted to social media by Wilkins after the October 2025 event showed the couple beaming as they sat in the crowd. Another showed her cheering as she held up an oversized, golden championship belt.
Later, in November, Patel took to X to defend his partner, declaring: “Attacking her isn’t just wrong - it’s cowardly and jeopardizes our safety.”
“The disgustingly baseless attacks against Alexis - a true patriot and the woman I’m proud to call my partner in life - are beyond pathetic,” he wrote. “She is a rock-solid conservative and a country music sensation who has done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes.”
Wilkins also made headlines as a performer at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall as part of America 250. Several other artists pulled out of the event after finding out it was not a non-partisan celebration.
Speaking on The Megyn Kelly Show in 2025, Wilkins opened up about meeting Patel and revealed that they crossed paths while attending an event held at her friend’s house.
“I just liked that he was so, so honest. He is exactly who he is all the time,” she said. “His character is incredible; his values are incredible. You know, we both are very patriotic so obviously there are things there that we definitely agree on.”
Wilkins also shared that she grew up in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, as well as Arkansas, noting that the latter was her favorite.
Wilkins’ LinkedIn page shows that she has been a board committee member for the National Rifle Association since June 2025 and a consultant for The American Border Story since May that same year.
The country singer has previously hit out at online conspiracy theories suggesting that she is linked to the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad.
On The Megyn Kelly Show, Wilkins responded to the theories and pointed to her long history of speaking out for conservative causes.
“It would have been a really long gameplay,” she said. “And the thing here too is that, you know, you don’t know where life is going to go.”
