Iconic London black cabs to be available on Uber - Tech & Science Daily podcast

London black cabs will be available to order through Uber from early next year.

A spokesman for the US-based firm said a "small number" of taxi drivers have already signed up to the service and it hopes to recruit "several hundred" by January.

Senior figures in the black cab industry have frequently expressed concerns over the growth of Uber, which has traditionally offered minicab journeys.

Mobile and broadband providers are ‘set to rake in almost half a billion pounds from 2024 mid-contract price hikes’. Harry Kind from the consumer group Which? says millions of UK households could be impacted.

Their ‘The Right to Connect’ campaign, is calling on all providers to stop this practice ahead of Ofcom’s upcoming decision on its review of mid-contract price hikes, to ensure that customers are not impacted by similar price rises next April.

England is going to get a new national park as part of a government set of "nature pledges" to give greater access and protection to the countryside. Natural England will consider a list of possible sites, which could include the Chilterns, the Cotswolds and Dorset.
