NEW DELHI: Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana has expressed the challenges he faces in the absence of the injured all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who is one of the primary wicket-taking bowlers for the team but is down with a hamstring injury. It has has left Theekshana with the responsibility of being the primary strike bowler for Sri Lanka, a role he and Hasaranga shared in the past.
"It is a challenge because he is the main wicket-taking bowler we had. We both had a partnership, some days I had to be the strike bowler and some days he will be the strike bowler. The other guy will keep pressure on the batsmen," Theekshana commented after Sri Lanka's seven-wicket loss to Afghanistan on Monday.
