I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner Danny Miller couldn't resist a sly dig at Matt Hancock ahead of the new series.
The ITV show is returning tonight, with hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly making their return to the jungle after two years in Wales. They will be joined by this year's contestants including Boy George, Sue Cleaver, Owen Warner, Scarlette Douglas, Mike Tindall, Charlene White, Chris Moyles, Jill Scott, Babatúndé Aléshé and Olivia Attwood, with Tory MP Matt Hancock set to join at a later date.
Ahead of the new series, reigning champion and Emmerdale star Danny Miller shared his excitement as he settled down to watch the new series with some pizza and beer - and no kangaroo or offal in sight.
The actor couldn't resist a dig at this year's most talked about campmate Matt Hancock ahead of the Tory MP's arrival into the jungle. Danny shared his excitement for the new series with his Twitter followers, but couldn't help but make a joke at the MP's expense.
He wrote: "Pizza and beer and @imacelebrity new series tonight. Jealous but excited and if you think I’m handing over my crown you’re wrong, I’ve hidden it so come and find it if you want it. Crazy emotions running through my mind in honesty!"
"Just enjoy it camp mates #ImACeleb," he added as he reflected on his series, which saw him win ahead of the likes of Coronation Street's Simon Gregson and The Saturdays singer and Loose Women star Frankie Bridge.
Fans rushed to social media to congratulate him again on his win last year, whilst one penned: "Imagine signing up and finding out you have to share a camp with Matt Hancock though," alongside a string of emojis of monkeys with hands covering their eyes.
"Awks," Danny replied in response, as he made a dig at the Tory MP, who has had major backlash since signing up for the show.
Mr Hancock's spokesperson insists he is doing the show to raise awareness of dyslexia.
"Matt will be making a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and causes supporting dyslexia off the back of his appearance. He will also declare the amount he receives from the show to Parliament to ensure complete transparency, as normal," they said.
"This is an amazing opportunity to engage with the public and talk about issues he really cares about - including his dyslexia campaign. Matt is still working on constituency matters and will continue to do so up until he goes into the jungle. Producers have agreed that Matt can communicate with his team throughout the show if there's an urgent constituency matter."
