Matt Hancock has broken cover and left his luxurious accommodation as he makes his way toward the I'm A Celebrity camp.
MP Hancock, a hugely controversial contestant, has been in isolation for a week like other contestants because of Covid testing.
Today the politician left his sprawling £2m holiday home in the Tweeds Head area of New South Wales for the first time in seven days.
Ahead of his I'm A Celebrity debut, Hancock has been living it up at the huge abode which has an idyllic view of the beach, a private pool, five bedrooms, and four bathrooms, and sleeps up to 10 people.
Giving a brief thumbs up, Hancock was seen grinning as he made his way into the jungle for the final checks before becoming an official contestant.
The former Health Secretary cut a casual figure in a navy T-shirt and shorts and showed no sign of nerves as he faced cameras ahead of his TV debut.
Before getting into a waiting car earlier today, Hancock, 44, was asked if he would eat kangeroo penis and pulled a grimace.
As Hancock heads into the jungle, he will face medical check ups and a talk about which animals to be wary of and to look out for in camp before joining his campmates.
It will be a far cry from the luxury accommodation he has been staying in, where he is said to have had breakfast, lunch and dinner delivered to him.
And he will face many more questions from the other contestants when he is shown in camp for the first time on tomorrow night's show.
Hancock is going onto the show alongside other late entry Seann Walsh.
The news will be confirmed by TV hosts Ant and Dec at the end of tonight's show, after Olivia Attwood's shock exit.
Olivia, 31, was advised by the show's medical team not to return to the camp, after she left for checks, leaving her heartbroken.
ITV have bent the usual rules of I'm A Celebrity to allow Mr Hancock to reply to emails and even go on Zoom meetings to help constituents whilst in isolation.
Other celebs in Australia lost their phones and any contact with the outside world after landing Down Under. Most had one or a couple of short calls home and then faced most the week alone before the series with just streaming services like Netflix and a home gym for company.
But sources close to Mr Hancock say he has been given a computer to respond to urgent emails but the use was monitored so he could not contact loved ones and it was only used for work.
The Mirror understands Hancock no longer has access to a laptop and now faces up to three weeks where he will be uncontactable to his constituents from West Suffolk.
His decision to go onto the show whilst receiving his MP's salary has been widely criticised with even Prime Minister Rishi Sunak weighing in.
Sunak said: "I think politics is a noble profession, at its best - it can and should be - but it’s incumbent on politicians to earn people’s respect and trust.
"They do that by working hard for their constituents, as the vast majority of MPs do - that is why I was very disappointed with Matt’s decision.” When asked if he will be watching the show, Mr Sunak said: "I genuinely won’t have the time’’ is the honest answer."
