Twitter users reacted with anger on Saturday night as Matt Hancock secured a place in the final of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! The former cabinet minister survived the public vote at the expense of former England rugby player Mike Tindall.
But while many took to Twitter to vent their frustration and anger that the MP had made it so far in the reality TV contest, others appeared to be amused and even hinted that they were voting for him deliberately to watch people have a 'meltdown' on the social media platform. Meanwhile, others seemed keen to point out that the mood on Twitter does not necessarily reflect that of the wider British public.
Some users expressed their shock at the politician making it into the show's final. Posting a picture of the ITV show's co-host Declan Donnelly with a surprised, open-mouthed expression on his face, ChelssPenk wrote: "Me when they announced Mike was leaving instead of Matt"
