A husband has been found guilty of murdering his wife who had planned to leave him - as well as butchering their 12-year-old daughter
Police found the bodies of Jillu Nash, 43, and her autistic daughter Louise at their home in Great Waldingfield, Sudbury, Suffolk, last September.
Peter Nash, 47, was found covered in blood and holding a knife with self-inflicted stab wounds where he had attempted to take his own life after failing to gas himself to death.
When he refused to hand over the knife he was Tasered by police and taken to hospital under police arrest for five weeks.
Earlier in the trial Ipswich Crown Court had been told Mrs Nash had started a relationship with a work colleague and planned on leaving her husband.
Nash had pleaded not guilty to the two murder charges but jurors today found him guilty by unanimous verdicts.
Post-mortem examinations found Mrs Nash had been strangled before having a T-shirt stuffed in her mouth, while Louise was stabbed in the abdomen.
David Josse KC, prosecuting, had told proceedings: "The defendant and Mrs Nash had a difficult and unhappy marriage.
"They married in 2009 and the stresses and strains of that relationship were undoubtedly compounded by Peter Nash losing his job by redundancy in 2020."
He added Nash was "largely responsible for the care of their autistic daughter Louise", who was "non-verbal, only able to say a few words".
Mr Josse said that Mrs Nash had recorded some conversations she had with her husband, and in August 2022 Nash called her "a schemer who caused chaos to gain attention".
Mr Josse added: “When he suggested she had been cheating on him for some four months, she corrected him and told him it was eight months.”
Nash strangled his wife for around ten minutes after confronting her over photos he had found of her with another man.
Once she was dead he sat thinking what to do next before deciding to kill Louise and himself.
The court was told he believed he ‘lawfully killed’ Louise as she was his ‘property’ and he did it to protect her because he did not trust anyone else to look after her.
Mr Josse said that TikTok videos, accessed by the defendant, showed the "embittered" and "self-pitying" mindset which he had.
After strangling his wife and stuffing a T-shirt in her mouth, Nash tried to fill the house with gas.
When this failed, he stabbed Louise and himself a number of times, before they were discovered by emergency services.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on May 17.
