Steven Gerrard has previously faced a Rangers legends team and the former Ibrox manager will now complete an Old Firm double by doing battle with a Celtic XI this weekend
The Anfield legend racked up 710 appearances in all competitions for the team he's supported since childhood, is one of the big hitters in the entire history of the six times Champions League winners' history and him strutting his stuff at Anfield once again is sure to get the punters out in their numbers.
But a three-year stint leading Rangers produced a first Premiership title since in a decade after the club were sent tumbling down to the bottom tier of Scottish football, means he is held in similarly high esteem on the blue half of Glasgow. So there is sure to be a bit of extra spice when he pulls the botts on to face the club he once went head-to-head with for the ultimate prize north of the border.
Gerrard took part in a Rangers legends XI whilst he was manager at Ibrox, taking on Liverpool for the first time in his career - albeit in an exhibition fashion.
The match has been organised by the LFC Foundation. A legend of both clubs, Kenny Dalglish will be managing the Liverpool side, and the game will kick-off on Saturday, with the game set to start at 3pm.
Tickets can be purchased for £27 for adults, £17 for over 65s and £7 for juniors for those wishing to attend the match.
But for fans who are unable to make the trip to Merseyside, you can stream the game live. This will be done on Liverpool's Facebook and YouTube channels.
You can also follow minute-by-minute coverage LIVE on Record Sport.
