Who Was Solheim Cup MVP? How Many Points Every Player Scored At Robert Trent Jones Golf Club

The 2024 Solheim Cup is in the history books, as the US beat the Europeans by 15.5 to 12.5 points at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia.

In the end, the US was most indebted to the efforts of Rose Zhang, who claimed more points than any of other 23 players.

Zhang's glorious match began when, alongside Lauren Coughlin, she secured a 3&2 victory against Celine Boutier and Albane Valenzuela in the Friday morning foursomes.

It got even better for Zhang in the afternoon four ball session. This time, she played with Andrea Lee, and the pair comfortably saw off the challenge of Linn Grant and Charley Hull 5&4.

Zhang then sat out the Saturday morning foursomes session, but she was back for the afternoon four ball where, again teamed with Lee, the pair thrashed Grant and Celine Boutier 6&4.

Those performances helped the US take a commanding 10-6 lead into the Sunday singles session, where Zhang once again played her part, beating Carlota Ciganda 6&4 to claim her fourth point of the match.

Not far behind Zhang was her playing partner for the Friday morning foursomes, Coughlin. After that win, she joined Sarah Schmelzel in the afternoon four ball session, winning 3&2 against Emily Pedersen and Maja Stark.

In the Saturday morning foursomes, Coughlin played with Lexi Thompson, and the pair beat Maja Stark and Georgia Hall 4&3 before she was rested for the afternoon four ball session.

Finally, in Coughlin's Sunday singles match against Maja Stark, she won half a point taking her to 3.5 for the match.

For the US, Nelly Korda, Allisen Corpuz and Megan Khang also had good matches, winning three points each.

Charley Hull was the Team Europe player who secured the most points, with three after playing in all five sessions. Hull lost her Friday foursomes match alongside Esther Henseleit when they took on Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz, and she was on the receiving end of another defeat in the afternoon four ball session against Zhang and Andrea Lee.

If it looked like shaping up to be a disappointing edition for Hull, her class showed through as she reeled off three points in three sessions, first in the Saturday foursomes, where she and Henseleit beat Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho.

In the Saturday afternoon four ball, this time playing with Georgia Hall, Hull claimed her second point as the pair beat Allisen Corpuz and Lilia Vu.

The English star saved the best for last, though, beating World No.1 Korda 6&4 in the Sunday singles to give the Europeans a fighting chance of victory.

At the other end of the scale, two players, Europe's Linn Grant and US star Ally Ewing, finished empty-handed. For Grant, that'll be a big disappointment after she won three of her five matches in her Solheim Cup debut in 2023.

For Ewing, it's the first time in four editions where she hasn't won at least a point, although she can take consolation from the fact that, ultimately, it didn't prevent the US claiming victory.

Here are the individual points records for the 2024 Solheim Cup.
