Houthis Use Warmongering Podiums to Spread Lies, Mislead Yemenis

Houthi militias have employed their warmongering podiums to excite sedition and spread lies, Yemeni government officials warned, demanding the registering of the Iran-backed group on terror lists.

Houthis have actively promoted false allegations that hide their failures and repeated defeats.

“The Iranian media system has begun to weaken with the weakness of the Houthi militia as a result of the slap that our forces dealt them in the governorate of Shabwah and the district of Harib,” the Director of the Giants Brigades’ Media Center Aseel Al-Saqladi told Asharq Al-Awsat.

Saqladi pointed to the Houthi attempt to spread false media about alleged victories on the battleground.

“They have resorted to this ridiculous act of collecting video clips that are not even from the Harib battle to create the illusion of their militiamen having achieved victories. But the matter of the fact is that they have been defeated on an arena of over 4500 square kilometers in under 10 days,” said Saqladi.

Saqladi described the Houthi militia as a tool in the hands of the Iranians.

They serve the Iranian invasion of Yemen, he said, adding that Houthi media institutions are run by an Iranian and Lebanese cadre of Hezbollah followers.

Houthis are nothing but a tool. They say what is dictated to them by their Iranian masters, stressed Saqladi.

Information Ministry Undersecretary Abdul Basit al-Qaedi told Asharq Al-Awsat that the Houthi militia’s speech is not different from that of all Iranian militias in the region. From Lebanon to Syria to Iraq, all Iran-backed groups lie and hide behind a banner of piety.

Qaedi believes that militias tell their followers untruths to delude them into thinking that they are strong and able.

Nevertheless, anyone well-informed will see past the lies put out by these militias, Qaedi added.
