House Leader Jeffries Denies Evidence for Biden's Impeachment Inquiry

Jeffries contends there's no evidence to justify Biden's impeachment inquiry.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York has strongly criticized the impeachment inquiry against President Biden, labeling it as an 'illegitimate political hit job' inspired by the former President. Despite Republicans' review of more than 100,000 pages of documents and numerous witnesses, Jeffries argues there is zero evidence to suggest President Biden has committed an impeachable offense or engaged in any wrongdoing.

Jeffries firmly rebuffed claims that the impeachment process could make Biden 'unelectable,' citing Biden's impressive track record of legislative victories. From implementing the American Rescue Plan, aiding in pandemic recovery and job creation, combating climate change to lowering insulin costs, Jeffries believes President Biden can get the American people to trust him to continue making a difference for them.

Furthermore, Jeffries pointed to the ongoing policy negotiation regarding the President's national security supplemental package. He expressed faith in the administration's approach to immigration and national security. Barring any compromise on House democrats' values, Jeffries anticipates the package will ensure the safety and security of the American people while considering the stand of the nation on immigration.

On the question of the controversial New York's redistricting decision , Jeffries viewed it as a constitutional obligation rather than a political maneuver. He criticized the previous process as a 'broken process forced by a right-wing judge' and welcomed the Court of Appeals decision to return to an independent redistricting commission.

Finally, despite the political criticism and challenges, Jeffries expressed optimism about for the future. He pointed towards continuing work for building the economy, lowering costs, ensuring safe communities and growing the middle class. Jeffries concluded asserting that his focus is on delivering real, impactful changes to the everyday lives of Americans.
