Electric motorcycles have come a long way, but there's still one glaring problem nobody's completely figured out: charging. Sure, modern electric bikes are getting faster, lighter, and more capable, but waiting around for a battery to charge is still a pretty lousy alternative to filling up a gas tank. Honda, however, has a solution that's been hiding in plain sight for years. And now, it wants other manufacturers to get in on the action.
Honda's Mobile Power Pack e:, the removable battery system used in electric scooters like the EM1 e: and CUV e:, recently picked up the Sustainability & Circular Economy Excellence Award at The Battery Show 2026 in Detroit. Corporate awards aren't exactly the sort of thing that gets motorcyclists excited, but there's something considerably more interesting happening here. Honda is now offering this technology to other manufacturers in the US.
