Homemade chips: $20m boost for Aussie quantum leader

An Australian company aiming to build the world's first commercial-scale quantum computer will take another leap towards its goal after securing a multimillion-dollar investment. 

Sydney-based Silicon Quantum Computing, founded by former Australian of the year Michelle Simmons, secured a $20 million boost from the National Reconstruction Fund on Tuesday to support its operations, including manufacturing quantum computer chips in Australia.
