Holly Willoughby makes sly dig at Piers Morgan ahead of launch of Uncensored show

Holly Willoughby issued a cheeky dig at Piers Morgan ahead of the launch of his new show tonight.

The 57-year-old infamously stormed off GMB after a row with weatherman Alex Beresford over remarks he had made about Meghan Markle.

He quit the show that evening after being told to apologise by ITV bosses.

Piers has since joined a rival channel, with his new show Uncensored set to air tonight featuring another 'storming off' moment - this time courtesy of Donald Trump.

Discussing comments Trump makes in his interview suggesting that the Queen should strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their titles, This Morning hosts Holly and Phillip Schofield were joined by Gyles Brandreth and Camilla Tominey.

Speaking of Trump, Holly said pointedly: "He's never a fan of Meghan, has he? Right from the get-go he's been quite opinionated. He seems to blame her for all of it."

"Also, he's talking to Piers Morgan who isn't a fan of Meghan either," Camilla remarked.

Raising her eyebrows, Holly said: "Not much balance in that chat."

Meanwhile, Gyles added that it is a "promo for Piers Morgan's new show" and that "not too much should be taken from it" as the Queen "loves her grandson".

Speaking with Piers tonight, Trump says: "The only thing I disagree with the Queen on, probably one of the only things ever, is that I think she should have said, 'If that’s your choice, fine. But you no longer have titles', you know, and frankly, don’t come around where you’re just, because her loyalty is to the country.

"She said that many times. Her loyalty is to the country. And I think that he has been so disrespectful to the country, and it’s a great country."

The businessman continues: "You know, here’s my issue with it. I think that they’ve quit the country, they quit royal duty, they’re living in luxury and California. They want to use their royal titles to exploit them for massive financial gain. Without any of the duty that comes with the royal titles. I don’t think you can have your royal cake and eat it. That’s my argument about it."

Trump also tells Piers that he really doesn't think Harry and Meghan's marriage is going to last.

"So I want to know what’s going to happen when Harry decides he’s had enough of being bossed around," he says.

"Or maybe when she decides that she likes some other guy better. I want to know what’s going to happen when it ends, okay.

"It’ll end and it’ll end bad. And I wonder if Harry’s gonna go back on his hands and knees back into the beautiful city of London and say, please. You know, I think Harry has been led down a path."

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
