Holly Willoughby clashed with a guest on This Morning today (February 7) after she referred to Carrie Johnson as "Carrie Antoinette".
The guest also referred to Carrie Johnson as a "former mistress" and suggested she was to blame for the Downing Street parties.
Holly Willoughby warned reporter Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije that her comments were starting to sound like the "Meghan Markle bashing" and that it was "really unfair".
Carrie Johnson, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's wife, told the public in a rare statement that she had been victim to a "brutal campaign" after claims that she had been influencing the Prime Minister.
Conservative party donor Michael Ashcroft claimed in his new biography of Carrie Johnson that she had been "hindering" the Prime Minister's ability to lead.
Health secretary Sajid Javid described the accusations of influencing the Prime Minister as "sexist".
On ITV's This Morning, guest Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije suggested that "apparently, Boris Johnson isn't very keen on a party" as the presenters discussed Ashcroft's allegations and the statement from Carrie Johnson's spokesperson.
She said "However Carrie, former mistress, now wife of Boris Johnson, is very very partial to a party."
Holly Willoughby then interrupted the guest, saying "I feel like just sitting here now, using her name and sort of saying Carrie Antoinette and words like 'former mistress' I just think it's really unfair."
"I feel like it just screams a little bit of that Meghan Markle bashing that we've all done", she noted.
Holly Willoughby then concluded "I feel like actually we don't know, we weren't there" in reference to whether Carrie Johnson was responsible for the Downing Street parties.
