Developer IO Interactive pulled all content related to MMA fighter Conor McGregor from Hitman World of Assassination. This follows a sexual assault ruling against the UFC star.
The mixed martial artist originally appeared in the game as part of an Elusive Target mission that was released in June 2024. McGregor made a return to the game on Nov. 15, 2024, as part of a limited-time event that was originally scheduled to run until Dec. 8, 2024.

In the new event, players are tasked with killing McGregor's character, who is known as The Disruptor, as he prepares for an in-game MMA fight. The developer announced the news in a social media post.
IO Interactive said that in light of the recent court ruling regarding the MMA fighters, they have decided to end its collaboration with the UFC star, effective immediately.
It added that it was taking the matter very seriously and was not able to ignore the ruling's implications, according to Polygon.
The news comes after the MMA fighter was found liable for sexual assault during a civil trial that was held in Dublin on Nov. 22, 2024. He previously faced accusations of rape and sexual assault in 2018.
McGregor was also the subject of a criminal investigation but he was not formally charged by law enforcement at the time. The UFC star also faced accusations from several women and will now have to pay roughly $250,000 in damages to his recent accuser.

Hitman World of Assassination also has another Disruptor DLC pack that offers players a chance to get permanent access to The Ostentatious.
This is an arcade contract that features McGregor's character. It also has a new outfit, items, and a set of cosmetics for the freelancer house, Eurogamer said.
Following the verdict that found McGregor liable for sexual assault, the MMA fighter said that he plans to appeal it. He and his friend James Lawrence are accused of having sex with Irish woman Nikita Hand against her will in a Dublin hotel.
When McGregor shared his plans to appeal the verdict of the case, he posted on social media saying that the sexual acts with Hand were consensual.
He maintained that he did not do anything wrong. Those particular posts have since been taken down from social media.
Following the verdict against the MMA fighter, Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI) publicly urged retailers to stop selling the UFC star's Forge Irish Stout and Proper Twelve alcohol brands, according to Yahoo.
