Hibs are keen on a move for Uruguay defender Joaquin Sosa - as Hibees hero Tam McManus reveals they could have signed Steven Fletcher.
The 20-year-old centre-back is currently on loan at Liverpool Montevideo from Nacional and South American reports claim that a deal for him to go to Easter Road has already been struck. He's helped keep nine clean sheets in 17 games and his loan could be cut short for him to complete a Hibs transfer.
Already this summer, new manager Lee Johnson has signed defender Rocky Bushiri and Kyle McClelland has been with the first team plenty of times after initially joining the Development Squad from Rangers. Sosa has been capped by Uruguay at youth level and would add strength to a position Hibs are keen to bolster. Meanwhile, former player McManus claims Fletcher would have moved heaven and earth to pull on the green shirt in Leith again.

Dundee United have snapped up the former Scotland international ahead of the Premiership season but McManus believes the 35-year-old wanted a capital return, 13 years after leaving for Burnley.
He told PLZ: "I'm friends with Steven Fletcher and he'd have walked to Hibs. "He wanted to go to Hibs and they weren't interested.
"They have Christian Doidge and they've signed a couple of younger players. For me Fletcher is a better player and will score more goals than Doidge. Steven has went to Dundee United and I think they will be good this year."
