Hibs starting XI confirmed as Hanlon decision made with Boyle included in squad

Hibs manager Lee Johnson has selected his XI that will take on Hearts in this afternoon's Premiership Edinburgh derby.

Paul Hanlon came through a development match against Queen's Park ok midweek and he is on the bench at Easter Road this afternoon for the first time this term. Jair Tavares is suspended for the game and Demetri Mitchell has also picked up a niggling injury and misses out after returning from a concern in last weekend's 1-0 win against St Johnstone.

A huge boost has been handed to the club with news Martin Boyle has returned from his brief stint in Saudi Arabia at Al-Faisaly and he is named on the BENCH. He is set to be unveiled before kick-off which will no doubt lift the atmosphere up a notch. Hibs did not register a win during this fixture last season and will be desperate to put down an early marker against their big capital rivals.

Johnson said ahead of kick-off: “I’m honestly going into it full of positivity. Of course I respect Hearts and the quality they’ve got and the stability they’ve had.

"But we’re in this division to shake it up a little bit and this is an opportunity for us to show that. We’ve won the first game against St Johnstone having been in control and scored a 90th-minute winner.

"It’s led to a good week full of positivity. Just like Hearts (who beat Ross County on the opening day), we’ll be taking that into the first 20 minutes on Sunday.”

Hibs XI: Marshall, Cadden, Rocky, Porteous, Cabraja, Kenneh, Newell, Campbell, Melkersen, Henderson, Youan

Subs: Dabrowski, Miller, Hanlon, Doyle-Hayes, Doidge, Bojang, McGregor, O MacIntyre, Boyle
