Hibs next manager latest on Roy Keane as Easter Road chiefs head to England for interviews

Hibs are set to ramp up their search for their new manager in England this week.

Easter Road chief executive Ben Kensell and head of recruitment Ian Gordon have headed south to interview a number of candidates.

Hibs have had a number of strong applicants from managers with international and English Premier League experience.

Former Sunderland and Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has been linked with a potential interest in the Easter Road post and possible talks this week.

It remains to be seen if that is firmed up by either side.

The club has whittled down their shortlist and are set to take things to the next level with a series of face-to-face interviews over the coming days.

Hibs have been on the lookout for a new head coach since they sacked Shaun Maloney earlier this month.

They appointed the former Belgium coach just over four months ago but it is an appointment that never worked out.

The club are now looking for his successor to have more first-team coaching experience.

First-team coach David Gray has been left in charge of first-team affairs and led the team to victory over St Mirren at the weekend and Saturday’s clash with Livingston.
