Hero Edinburgh firefighters race to bus alight in busy residential area

Hero firefighters have raced to a bus alight in a quiet residential area of Edinburgh just after 1pm on Sunday afternoon.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the vehicle blaze on Drumbrae Drive around 1.30pm on June 11 and two crews sped to the scene.

The single-decker Lothian bus can be seen with smoke billowing out from the back of the vehicle while a cordon has been set up as firefighters shoot down the bus with water.

Lothian Buses confirmed on Twitter there are delays in the area and a diversion in place while the incident is ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed that they received reports of a bus on fire in the Drumbrae Drive area at around 13.36pm on Sunday, June 11.

There are currently two appliances battling the fire and there are no reports of any injuries so far.
