Helen Skelton missing from Countryfile as estranged husband flies out on holiday with new girlfriend

Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton was missing from the weekend's edition just days after news of her marriage break up came out. Helen, 38, announced the end of her relationship with husband Richie Myler four months after the birth of their youngest daughter.

National reports say that Richie has now gone abroad with his new girlfriend in a relationship that has left Helen “dumbstruck”. It has been reported the Leeds Rhinos rugby is now in a new relationship with a ‘young businesswoman’.

An insider told The Sun: "Richie appears to have been spending a lot of his free time with this younger, successful businesswoman. They are now in the early stages of a relationship."

“He said he was going on holiday, It’s thought he’s taken his new missus so they can be out of the public eye. Helen’s holding it together well, which is admirable given she was blindsided by his new relationship.”

“Mutual friends think he’s treated her appallingly,” they went on. "It’s a shock to them that he’s moved on so soon after she announced the marriage was over.”

Richie’s alleged holiday comes after it was revealed that Helen herself holidayed without her estranged partner over the Easter holidays. Helen posted snaps of herself posing by the hotel swimming pool in a black bikini, and was all smiles as she held blow-up floats and talked about her beloved kids.

Meanwhile Richie uploaded an image of himself training at a session in Leeds. After eight years of marriage, Helen told her fans the dad-of-three, whom she shares sons Ernie, six, Louis, five, and their newborn daughter Elsie with, had moved out of their family home.

"Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple," the former Blue Peter host wrote on Instagram. “He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children," Helen added alongside two broken-heart emojis.
